A whopping 93 percent of millennials are wary of investing, according to a Capital One ShareBuilder survey released to CNN Money. The reasons vary — from a distrust of markets to a lack of investing knowledge — but the sentiment has real effects on 20-somethings’ investing behaviors. For example, less than 50 percent of 21-30 year-olds are saving for retirement, according to Money Under 30’s 2015 Millennial Money Survey. The reasons to be intimidated by investing are real: the recession of 2008/2009 is a relatively fresh memory, the world of investing is overwhelming, you don’t have a lot of money to get started, and the world is anything but certain.
