Frosted Lemonade Ingredients
Lemons – Use fresh lemons for lemon juice. Make sure to reach for vibrant-colored lemons that are blemish-free and ripe.
Sugar – Granulated sugar is used to sweeten the lemonade base for this drink.
Water – I do recommend using filtered water so it doesn’t take on more flavor in the drink.
Milk – Whole milk is going to offer the richest and best flavor for the drink. You can use a lower percentage if you want.
Ice Cream – Quality vanilla ice cream is key as it is the stand-out flavor in this lemonade ice cream drink.
Vanilla – A splash of vanilla will enhance the drink’s sweetness.
How to Make Chick-fil-A Frosted Lemonade
Full directions and measurements are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the page.
This is a quick walkthrough of how it is made.
Step 1: Start by squeezing lemons and getting the fresh lemon juice.
Step 2: Add ice cream, water, lemon juice, milk, vanilla, and sugar into the blender.
Step 3: Blend and mix until nice and smooth.
Step 4: Pour in a glass and garnish with a lemon slice. Serve and enjoy!
Fresh homemade lemonade or freshly squeezed lemonade that you buy in the store is best for optimal flavor. You can find it in the refrigerator section at the store if you don’t want to make it fresh.
I used 3 cups of ice cream, but this does make a lot of frosted lemonade. You can always adjust the recipe to fit you amount you want for the recipe.
Variations To Recipe
- Add in some fresh strawberries for a strawberry-frosted lemonade. Add 1/2 cup to fresh strawberries.
- Use artificial sweetener in replace of sugar if you want a sugar-free option.
- Use a dairy-free ice cream or sugar-free ice cream to alter the ice cream aspect of the drink.
- You can use honey in replace of sugar for a natural sweetener.
- Muddle in some mint leaves for a minty lemonade version.
- Use store-bought lemonade instead of making homemade lemonade.
Tips for Success
- High-Speed Blender – Make sure to use a high-speed blender that way it is fully blended and the ingredients are mixed perfectly.
- Chilled Ingredients – I recommend using chilled ingredients so that when you go to mix, the ice cream doesn’t melt as quickly. If you start with cold ingredients it will help ensure it is extra chilled.
- Serve in Frozen Glass – You can place your glasses in the freezer for 30 minutes to an hour before serving your frosted lemonade. It is going to help give your drink that extra chilled headstart, so it melts down a lot slower.
- Serve Right Away – Make sure to serve up your drink right away, as it will begin to melt quickly since it is ice cream.
- Adjust As You Want – Add more sugar for enhancing the sweetness of the drink, less sugar to make it not as sweet, etc. You can add less or more to adjust the thickness of the frozen drink as well. Feel free to play around with the ingredients.
